Cubic Defense operates as a fast-paced commercial product development organization serving a primarily defense customer base. This role may be embedded within a matrixed product Integrated Product Team (IPT) or a functionally directed team, requiring the ability to navigate complex organizational structures while maintaining focus on technical delivery.
As a DTECH Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical completion of small to medium-sized projects, products, or workstreams. Your primary mission is to communicate needs, progress engineering solutions, and provide technical guidance and leadership. You will exercise discretionary decision-making authority within your technical scope, working under general supervision to ensure engineering solutions meet agreed-upon schedules and scope.
In this position, you will serve as a critical bridge between engineering teams, product managers, and customers. Your day-to-day involves supporting new product development and the sustainment of existing products through upgrades and updates. You will interface with internal and external customers to define requirements, discuss planning, and provide status updates. When issues arise, you will troubleshoot complex technical problems, isolate root causes, and deliver workarounds or solutions in a professional and timely manner. Documentation of the entire issue lifecycle—from initial report through resolution—is a key part of your workflow.
Candidates selected for this role will be evaluated on their ability to perform engineering problem-solving tasks and manage schedules in an Agile environment using traditional waterfall milestones. The selection process focuses on identifying individuals with strong organizational and interpersonal skills who can effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
