The Project Engineer III serves as a key member of the product engineering team within Rheem's US Air Division. This role is dedicated to driving product design and development for heating, cooling, and water heating systems. From concept through product launch, the engineer leads and coordinates critical activities including system modeling, simulation, prototyping, testing, and analysis. The position also plays a vital part in cost improvement initiatives and ongoing product maintenance.
This position supports the US Air Division, operating out of either Fort Smith, AR, or O'Fallon, MO. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of Rheem's product capabilities, manufacturing standards, and the broader industry landscape. Engineers are expected to stay abreast of technology trends and competitive products while ensuring all designs meet applicable codes and standards.
As a leader at Rheem, the approach to achieving results is just as important as the results themselves. This role demands a hands-on presence, ideally within a lab or manufacturing environment, to effectively collaborate with vendors and cross-functional product development teams. You will be expected to demonstrate core competencies such as building trusted relationships, communicating with impact, and fostering innovation. The ideal candidate will not only possess technical expertise in thermo-fluid modeling and analysis but also the ability to lead teams, facilitate change, and solve complex problems.
Candidates are encouraged to highlight their experience with HVAC&R systems and thermal-fluids modeling tools to stand out. Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and skills may be considered in place of the minimum requirements. This role is designated as hybrid (#LI-Hybrid).
