We are launching people to the Moon and Mars. If you want to be part of this amazing mission and enjoy working in a great team environment, we would love to have you as part of our team that is making history, today. It takes big ideas and determination to take NASA's vision and make it reality. That's what we do every day.
The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
You will perform mechanical and aerospace engineering tasks in support of NASA's Artemis program. Your work will range from participating in conceptual design ideas to revisions of existing designs and modifications to structures or Ground Support Equipment (GSE). You will be responsible for developing plans, writing work authorization documents, leading Task Teams, and executing hazardous and nonhazardous tests on ground and flight systems.
This role requires providing technical engineering direction for the Mechanical Engineering Department, including technical procedure development and operational support. You will prepare essential system engineering documentation components required for a complete and viable system. Success in this position involves planning, cost development, management, and scheduling for assigned projects while interfacing with client representatives to ensure tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.
The position is located on a hazardous testing facility at Kennedy Space Center. You will be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex, often walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel, rocks, and dirt/sand. The role may involve climbing stairs, ladders, and platforms to access equipment and remote structures. Safety is paramount; all work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and company safety standards, and you must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in the event of an emergency.
While doing your part to help further space exploration, you can enjoy many on-site amenities, such as a Child Development Center, fitness center, barbershop, and discounted tickets to local attractions. Amentum values your time and commitment, offering partial telework options and flexible work schedules for many positions, depending on departmental needs.
