About Volunteers of America Mid-States

Volunteers of America Mid-States is a non-profit organization spanning four states, dedicated to creating positive change in the lives of individuals and communities through a ministry of service. Since our founding in 1896, our mission has been to provide housing for families, veterans, and low-income seniors, alongside care for individuals with developmental disabilities, restorative justice programs, and free HIV testing and education.

While the term "volunteer" originally referred to anyone serving others as a vocation, today we are staffed by paid, mission-driven professionals committed to building thriving communities. Our culture is built on flexibility, teamwork, and fun, supported by a robust benefits package and a strong work-life balance.

About the Role

The Project Coordinator serves as a vital partner to team members across the organization and external stakeholders, supporting initiatives that improve internal functions and launch new or expanded services. This role is essential to ensuring Volunteers of America Mid-States continues to meet the critical needs of those in our communities with the greatest need.

In this position, you will coordinate and manage projects with both internal and external focuses. Your day-to-day involves supporting program expansions by managing logistical tasks such as locating office spaces, handling IT requests, and procuring furniture. You will develop detailed task lists, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery. Additionally, you will facilitate cross-departmental meetings, manage project budgets, and maintain comprehensive timelines to guide execution. As a liaison between the organization and external partners, you will foster effective relationships and ensure clear communication regarding project status, challenges, and achievements.

Equal Opportunity

We are an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
