About CAN Community Health

CAN Community Health is a mission-driven organization dedicated to serving individuals impacted by HIV, Hepatitis C, STIs, and other infectious diseases. We are proud to have received the NPT Best Non-Profit to Work for Award for more than six consecutive years, reflecting our commitment to a supportive and professional environment.

Our team works tirelessly to drive our company's mission and values forward, ensuring that every patient receives compassionate, high-quality care. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference every day and are ready to join a culture that values diversity and inclusion.

About the Role

The Program Specialist I is an entry-level position within our Education & Prevention Team. This role is designed for someone with a basic understanding of HIV, prevention, and treatment pathways who is eager to grow professionally. You will become an integral part of our efforts to provide HIV/STI testing, health education, risk reduction counseling, and linkage to care for PrEP/HIV and Hepatitis C.

In this position, you will serve as a representative of CAN Community Health, conducting community-based outreach in diverse settings such as shelters, bars, inpatient centers, and parks. Your day-to-day activities will involve distributing promotional materials, assisting in the planning and execution of health events, and collaborating with internal and external disciplines to coordinate client services. You will also foster new community partnerships and represent the organization at local, state, and national conferences.

While standard clinic hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm, this position requires flexibility to work outside normal operating hours, including nights and weekends, to meet community needs.

Hiring Process

Candidates selected for an interview will be required to pass a Level I and Level II background check. Please note that duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.

CAN Community Health is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity. We value the ways in which we are different and ensure that all qualified applicants receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or other characteristics protected by applicable law.
