The Program Specialist I is an entry-level position within our Education & Prevention Team. This role is designed for someone with a basic understanding of HIV, prevention, and treatment pathways who is eager to grow professionally. You will become an integral part of our efforts to provide HIV/STI testing, health education, risk reduction counseling, and linkage to care for PrEP/HIV and Hepatitis C.
In this position, you will serve as a representative of CAN Community Health, conducting community-based outreach in diverse settings such as shelters, bars, inpatient centers, and parks. Your day-to-day activities will involve distributing promotional materials, assisting in the planning and execution of health events, and collaborating with internal and external disciplines to coordinate client services. You will also foster new community partnerships and represent the organization at local, state, and national conferences.
While standard clinic hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm, this position requires flexibility to work outside normal operating hours, including nights and weekends, to meet community needs.
