The Program Engineering Manager (PEM) leads the engineering effort for the entire program, ensuring the solution meets customer programmatic and technical requirements within the allocated engineering cost and schedule. This role provides technical responsibility and leadership to cross-functional teams through the design, development, fielding, and support of the system.
As the decision authority between the Chief Engineer and the engineering team, the PEM is responsible for developing the overall technical solution for the system. You will represent the technical team to project managers, functions, and executive leadership, influencing design, development, test, and verification. A key part of your day involves identifying and communicating technical risks and opportunities between the design team, Chief Engineer, and program management team. You will drive a culture of teamwork, integrity, respect, and professionalism while ensuring the smooth transition of products to production.
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and the nature of this role, this position is performed full time on site. Work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
