Brooklyn Community Services (BCS) stands as one of Brooklyn's first and largest non-sectarian social services agencies. Committed to serving a broad and diverse range of needs, BCS currently supports more than 10,000 individuals annually. Our mission encompasses education and child care, services designed to strengthen families, and initiatives that foster self-sufficiency for adults.
The Program Director for the Brooklyn High School for Leadership and Community Service is a critical, visible leadership position situated at 300 Willoughby Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. This role is fully in-person, operating Monday through Friday for 35 hours a week, and reports directly to the Division Director.
In this capacity, you will serve as the bridge between the school's educational mission and the social support systems necessary for student success. You will partner closely with the school Principal to ensure students are engaged in a rigorous educational program leading to a high school diploma. Your day-to-day involves leading a professional team of Advocate Counselors, Case Managers, and coordinators, while simultaneously engaging directly with students to provide social and emotional support.
You will be the strategic planner and problem solver who ensures high levels of attendance, facilitates restorative justice circles, and guides students through post-secondary planning. Beyond internal management, you will act as a liaison to external partners, including the Department of Education (DOE), DYCD, and ACCES-VR, ensuring compliance with funding contracts and fostering community connections for internships and job placements.
Candidates selected for an interview will be invited to discuss their experience in youth development and program management. The process is designed to assess both leadership capabilities and cultural fit within our collaborative environment.
