The Production Planning Intern serves as a vital bridge between data analysis and shop floor execution within a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment. This position is designed for students or recent graduates eager to gain hands-on experience in production planning, ERP implementation, and operational logistics.
At the heart of this internship is a structured, high-impact project: defining the planning processes within the Epicor ERP system. You will not merely observe but actively lead the development of a standardized framework for Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP). Your work will directly influence how the site plans, manages, and controls operations, establishing the data requirements, workflows, and standards that drive efficiency.
Your day will blend analytical rigor with cross-functional collaboration. You will spend significant time analyzing production and inventory data to identify trends and support process improvements. A major portion of your focus will be dedicated to mapping current planning workflows, identifying gaps, and designing future-state processes that leverage Epicor's capabilities.
You will work closely with production, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure planning outputs align with operational priorities. This involves defining data ownership, establishing reporting structures for key performance indicators (KPIs), and creating feedback mechanisms between planning and the shop floor. While primarily office-based, you will occasionally visit the production floor to observe workflows and understand the practical constraints of manufacturing.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo a standard interview process focused on analytical thinking and cultural fit. The process typically includes:
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or veteran status.
