About the Role
This position is a vital part of our operations, focused on transforming raw materials into finished reinforcing steel products. You will be responsible for the end-to-end fabrication process, including bending, cutting, bundling, and loading steel bars according to specific customer orders. The role requires operating a variety of specialized machinery, such as shearing machines, bending machines, overhead cranes, Fabmatic machines, and power saws, to ensure precision and efficiency.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor. In this safety-sensitive role, you are expected to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. You will work in a dynamic environment that may be noisy, dusty, hot, or cold, and you must be prepared to work overtime and any shift as required to meet production needs.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circleUnload trailers and store materials in designated storage bins
- check_circleAssemble and load completed orders onto trailers for shipping
- check_circleMaintain shop and designated areas in a clean and safe manner
- check_circleBend, cut, bundle, and load reinforcing steel bars according to customer orders
- check_circleApply epoxy touch-up to reinforcing steel bars using a spray gun
- check_circleOperate overhead crane to move, assemble, and select materials for fabrication or shipping
- check_circleAdhere to all safety programs, standards, and housekeeping procedures
- check_circleAssist other employees with operational tasks as needed
