About the Role
This position is dedicated to creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. The primary mission is to establish and maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return, while simultaneously achieving sales and profit goals for the Produce department. You will serve as the face of the department, ensuring that every interaction reflects the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Day in the Life
Your day involves monitoring all functions and activities within the Produce department, from inspecting products for quality and freshness to managing inventory and stocking conditions. You will empower associates to meet performance targets through effective teamwork and training, while also developing adequate schedules to manage customer volume. A significant portion of your time will be spent interacting with customers—answering questions, offering product samples, and informing them of specials to help them discover new items.
You will also collaborate closely with store management to create and execute sales promotions, prepare seasonal critiques, and assist in budgeting and financial reviews. Ensuring the safety of the environment is paramount; this includes maintaining proper temperatures in cases and coolers, reinforcing safety programs, and promptly reporting any safety risks or illegal activities.
