The Division of Probation & Parole – Adult operates within the Minden District, focusing on reintegrating offenders into society while assisting individuals and communities victimized by crime. As a Probation and Parole Officer, you will serve as a critical link between the justice system and the community. Your work involves supervising and investigating criminal offenders assigned to the Minden District office. You will manage compliance with probation and parole conditions, conduct social background investigations, and prepare detailed reports for courts and parole boards. The role requires active engagement in the rehabilitation process by coordinating offender placement in treatment and vocational programs, while also handling crisis interventions and emergency support services.
This position is dynamic and demanding, requiring you to enforce legal conditions, conduct arrests, transport violators, and participate in disciplinary hearings. You will also manage the collection and disbursement of restitution and fines, ensuring adherence to American Correctional Association standards and agency policies. The role may be filled at the Officer 1, 2, or 3 level depending on your experience, offering a clear path for career progression within the state government.
