This role is designed for a self-starting problem solver who will utilize analytical skills to find innovative solutions to quality-related issues. As a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer, you will implement tools and processes to ensure suppliers have robust manufacturing and acceptance plans to deliver first-time quality to BAE Systems. You will investigate, evaluate, resolve, and prevent quality issues by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends, leading continuous improvement projects, and applying corrective and preventive action tools.
Your day-to-day will involve conducting assessments to evaluate and verify supplier capabilities, traveling to assigned suppliers, and leading multiple supplier quality projects to completion. Strong communication skills are essential to ensure suppliers understand requirements and expectations, as well as to make progress reports and present findings. You will work in a flexible environment that provides a chance to change the world without giving up your personal life, putting our customers first in everything we do.

Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience. Proficient experience in Product Production Line Validation, test, equipment, instrumentation, and qualification of Electronic products. IPC-A-610 certification. Experience with product test, equipment, and instrumentation, knowledge of multiple Electronics Commodities (CCA/PCBA, Electronic and Electrical assemblies, RF and MW Devices, Semiconductor, Passives, and Distributors). Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and Control Plan. Practical experience with Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma. Green or Black Belt certification from a recognized organization. Working knowledge of Quality Management System principles. Eligibility to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance. Work experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering role. Experience in Aerospace or Defense Electronics Prime Contract environment. Working knowledge of AS9100 Quality System, AS9102C First Article Requirements, AS9145 APQP/PPAP Requirements, and Source Inspection.
