This Engineering Technician position is based onsite in Irving, TX, supporting a 12-month assignment on the 1st shift (Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM). The role is central to the production of high-quality medical device instruments within a controlled manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for the detailed assembly and testing of various electronic components and finished devices, ensuring strict adherence to quality and safety standards.
In this position, you will work under general supervision to perform testing using automated test equipment and may engage in the mechanical assembly of electromechanical subassemblies. A key part of your day involves interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and complex test procedures to guide production. You will also play a vital role in continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance production processes to meet quality and profitability metrics.
Beyond technical execution, you will maintain accurate records to ensure Device History Records and quality documents are precise, guaranteeing full traceability of parts and the ability to address any quality issues. You may also be called upon to instruct others on the use of specialized equipment manuals and test procedures. The role requires representing the company positively during facility tours by demonstrating techniques and sharing appropriate information.
You will support all company initiatives, including Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS), while strictly complying with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, ISO standards, and other regulatory requirements. Adherence to all environmental, health, and safety SOPs is mandatory.
