About the Team

Venturi Astrolab is pioneering new ways to explore and operate on distant planetary bodies. We are focused on designing, building, and operating a fleet of multi-purpose commercial planetary rovers to extend and enhance humanity's presence in the solar system.

The Avionics team is responsible for the electrical systems and hardware of Astrolab's electric rover vehicles and ground support equipment. We work collaboratively across teams to deliver exceptionally capable, reliable electronics that support our missions.

About the Role

The Principal Mixed Signal Electrical Engineer will lead the development and testing of avionics hardware for Astrolab rovers. This role is critical in driving the transition from concept to flight, ensuring our electronics can withstand the rigors of space environments. You will own mixed signal PCBA development from a clean sheet through qualification, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to define requirements, architectures, and concepts of operations. As a leader, you will guide design reviews, clearly communicating tradeoffs and design intent to interdisciplinary audiences while supporting manufacturing, integration, and flight operations.

Our Culture & Benefits

Join a team of best-in-class engineers building the foundation of planetary surface exploration. We offer equity ownership in the company and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and mental health support, alongside a 401(k) plan with a company match.

We foster a flexible and remote-friendly work environment with flexible PTO and parental leave. Our Hawthorne, CA office provides a home office set-up reimbursement, a weekly lunch stipend, complimentary snacks and beverages, and a monthly social hour with food and drinks.

Location & Reporting

This position reports to the Director of Avionics Engineering and is based in our Hawthorne, CA office.
