The Energetics and Propulsion Department is an engineering organization within the Hardware Engineering Directorate, responsible for the full spectrum of warhead, fuzing, and propulsion designs. This team tackles tough, meaningful problems involving power systems, ignition, and weapon initiation safety technologies.
In this remote role, you will join a team of highly advanced technologists to develop architectures and manage production efforts for a variety of one-shot devices, including initiators, gas generators, pyroswitches, and explosive bolts. You will serve as the day-to-day liaison between programs and functional subject matter experts, ensuring technical rigor in all deliverables. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to technology roadmaps, support failure analysis, and present design models to internal and customer review meetings. Advanced degree. Ten (10) or more years of directly related experience in energetic, fuze, or propulsive devices and their applications. Directly related experience in one shots subsystems design, development, and test. Experience in working with and managing suppliers. Supplier collaboration experience and oversight generating specifications and statements of work (SOW). Working knowledge or experience with either missile design or development, production support and integration. Experience with DoD customers and/or associated contractor executives and technical leadership. Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance (Department of Defense).
