At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today's mission and stay ahead of tomorrow's threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.
The Effector RF Design Team is seeking a Principal Engineer to join our operations in Tucson, AZ. This role is pivotal in leading the design and implementation of critical antenna, radome, and radar cross-section (RCS) ranges and chambers. You will not only shape technical roadmaps and enable modernization but also provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to employees across the business within your areas of expertise.
As a Principal Engineer, you will lead project teams and work closely with the Engineering organization to define and refine requirements that validate range and chamber compliance. Your day-to-day involves collaborating with government personnel and interdisciplinary engineering teams—including thermal, structural, mechanical, and systems engineers—to define, analyze, simulate, and evaluate requirements for ranges and chambers. You will oversee the implementation of new facilities, work with equipment suppliers, and drive the technical execution plans necessary to support our mission-critical defense systems.
This position requires an active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance (DoD Secret) prior to your start date. U.S. citizenship is mandatory as only citizens are eligible for this clearance. The DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
Candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid, or remote. RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted, though business necessity may alter this timeline.
