Child-Parent Centers (CPC) is dedicated to building trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues. We value individual differences, respect cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and remain sensitive to current community circumstances. Our mission is to provide a fast-paced, high-quality preschool environment where teamwork and open communication thrive.
We are committed to the professional growth of our team. CPC offers opportunities and financial support for housed substitutes to advance their careers, including assistance in attaining a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, an associate degree, and potentially a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or child development.
The Housed Substitute position is an entry-level, part-time role designed to provide essential classroom, food service, and custodial support to our Head Start Centers in the Nogales community. This role exists to ensure continuity of care and operational stability when team members are absent, covering everything from daily curriculum implementation to kitchen sanitation and facility maintenance.
You will be a vital part of a flexible team, reporting to the Center Manager. While the position is funded for four hours per day, Monday through Friday, the dynamic nature of early childhood education means you may work up to eight hours daily with limited advance notice. You must be prepared to travel between different community centers using a personal vehicle and occasionally work evenings or weekends for special events.
Your day will involve adapting to various needs: supporting teachers in fostering child development through intentional conversations and safety routines, preparing nutritious meals in compliance with Head Start guidelines, or ensuring the facility is safe and clean for the next day. This is a great opportunity for organized, dependable professionals with a strong work ethic who are eager to grow within a supportive, mission-driven organization.
To join our team, candidates must submit a current AZ Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card prior to their start date. Successful applicants will also need to provide proof of immunizations (MMR, Tdap, and Tuberculosis assessment), pass a company-paid physical exam, and complete a criminal background check. Additionally, you must be able to prove your right to work in the USA and possess or obtain current certifications in First Aid/CPR (Infants and Children) and a Food Handlers Certificate.
Child-Parent Centers, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We welcome candidates who share our values and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all children and families.
