The Connecticut Institute for Communities, Inc. (CIFC) is dedicated to strengthening communities through early learning programs. The Danbury Early Learning Programs provide essential educational support to young children, fostering a nurturing environment for development from infancy through preschool age.
The Child Development Associate (CDA) Specialist is a vital support role within our Early Learning unit, designed to assist 1-2 classrooms in the daily rhythm of pre-school and infant/toddler care. Working under the direction of assigned Lead Teachers and supervised by the Education Services Professional, you will help plan and implement classroom routines, curriculum, meals, and activities for children aged 6 months to 5 years.
In this capacity, you will serve as a key aid in classrooms of 14 to 20 Head Start/Preschool children or 7-8 Infant/Toddler children. Your primary focus is assisting in the core functions of the Head Start program, ensuring a safe and engaging environment while performing other tasks as needed to support the team's mission.
This position is open until filled. We strongly encourage bilingual candidates, particularly those with capabilities in English, Spanish, and/or Portuguese, to apply. While previous babysitting or childcare experience is preferred, this is an entry-level position open to those with a commitment to early childhood education.
