As a Prenatal Educator, you will serve as a passionate guide for expectant families, blending extensive knowledge of childbirth and perinatal topics with a patient-centered approach. This role is designed to empower individuals and groups through comprehensive health education, ensuring they feel prepared and supported throughout their journey.
The majority of your time will be dedicated to facilitating both virtual and in-person prenatal classes, including "Preparing for Childbirth," "Breastfeeding Basics," "Newborn Care," and "Preparing for Postpartum." You will adapt your teaching style to meet diverse learning needs, creating an inclusive environment that exceeds the expectations of every participant. Beyond core classes, you may have opportunities to teach related topics and contribute to special projects involving curriculum or resource development.
Your day-to-day involves more than just teaching; you will assess individual and population needs, collect and analyze data to drive program improvements, and collaborate cross-functionally to solve business problems. By applying evidence-based techniques like Motivational Interviewing, you will translate complex health concepts into simple, actionable information that maximizes learning and adherence.
We value a culture of continuous learning and adaptability. You will be expected to pursue self-development, create plans to capitalize on your strengths, and mentor team members. The role requires flexibility to learn from change and challenges while maintaining high standards of integrity and dependability. You will work closely with health education staff to refer members to additional resources, fostering a supportive network for our community.
Qualified applicants with arrest and/or conviction records will be considered for employment in a manner consistent with Federal, state, and local laws, including the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance. External hires must pass a background check and drug screen.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, protected veteran, or disability status.
