Match Charter Public School is a free, high-performing PreK-12 charter school in Boston serving up to 1,250 students. Our mission is to prepare students—particularly multilingual learners and first-generation college students—for success in college and careers to achieve economic security and mobility. Students gain acceptance through an annual blind public lottery open to all Boston residents.
Our community reflects amazing racial and cultural diversity, representing over 20 countries of origin and 20 languages spoken at home. 98% of our students are people of color. We are prepared to serve a diverse range of needs: 23% of our students qualify for special education services, and 19% are English Language Learners.
Match's core values are Equity, Freedom, Teamwork, Innovation, and Accountability. We are actively reframing our organizational processes and policies to be truly anti-racist. We believe that a staff diverse by race and other factors, an inclusive professional environment, and a culturally competent curriculum are vital to our goals.
We are seeking a Pre-K Lead Teacher for the 2026-27 school year at our Hyde Park Campus (100 Poydras St.). As a Lead Teacher, you will be fully responsible for the growth and achievement of a class of 17-18 students. You will be supported in the classroom by a paraprofessional.
The role involves teaching all academic blocks except for Arts and PE. You will uphold high academic and behavioral expectations while providing the necessary support for students to meet them. The position requires active participation in Match's coaching and professional development programming, as well as serving as a positive, collaborative member of the school community. Working hours are 7:00 AM to 2:45 PM, with professional development extending until 4:30 PM on Wednesdays.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification listed. Research shows that people of color and women are less likely to apply if they feel they must meet every requirement; our highest priority is finding the best candidate for the job. We value diverse backgrounds and traditional and non-traditional paths to education.
Please note that we can only consider applicants who have current US work authorization.
