The Precertification/Preauthorization Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring accurate medication coverage by collecting complete information and securing necessary pre-certifications from insurance companies. This position involves assisting in the development of departmental policies and procedures while resolving operational issues. Success in this role requires effective communication, strong customer relations skills, and the ability to work self-directed.
This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day. Essential functions include lifting materials weighing up to 25 pounds, extending wrists and arms for extended periods, and performing telephone and computer work requiring full range of motion in hands and arms. The role also necessitates the ability to articulate speech and hear clearly.
