The Portfolio & Grant Analyst serves as a strategic financial partner for a portfolio of grants and contracts supporting sponsored research. This role exists to ensure the financial integrity and sustainability of research initiatives by managing post-award operations, from budgeting and forecasting to compliance and stewardship.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with Principal Investigators (PIs) and key stakeholders to navigate complex financial landscapes. Your day-to-day involves resolving budgetary issues, preparing detailed financial statements, and providing long-term planning for research funding. You will act as a guide for faculty, advising on financial matters, recommending spending strategies, and managing the lifecycle of grants, including renewals, extensions, and closeouts. By maintaining up-to-date knowledge of university and sponsor policies, you ensure that every financial decision aligns with regulatory requirements while supporting the university's research mission.

Prior experience with grants and contract administration, including pre-award to post-award processes. Knowledge of university policies and procedures, particularly within an academic or medical research setting. Proficiency in using financial systems such as Workday and Yale Budget Tool (YBT) for financial management and reporting. Experience in managing international sponsored awards, including familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements. Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, or a related field, with several years of relevant financial experience.
