The Policy Advisor serves as a strategic partner to Oxfam's Natural Resource Justice (NRJ) global program. This role exists to drive the organization's agenda on human rights, transparency, and accountability within the oil, gas, and mining sectors. Working alongside NRJ Associate Directors, the advisor bridges high-level policy analysis with on-the-ground implementation across Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
The position is deeply collaborative, coordinating with internal teams including Corporate Accountability, Government Relations, and various Justice Hubs, while engaging external stakeholders such as coalitions, academics, and international financial institutions. The day-to-day involves identifying advocacy opportunities in the U.S. and priority countries, supporting country-led campaigns, and ensuring rigorous documentation of program impact to inform future strategies.
This role operates within a multi-cultural environment committed to Oxfam's mission. It requires a team-based culture where staff, partners, and beneficiaries are treated with dignity and respect. The position is integral to Oxfam's broader goals of gender justice, diversity, and safeguarding, ensuring a safe environment across all programs and communities served.
