About the Team

PepsiCo Foods R&D operates a fast-paced Pilot Plant and Testing Facility dedicated to driving innovation and new product development. This team is the engine behind evolving PepsiCo's processes through advanced automation, focusing on the seamless integration of PLCs, Operational Technology (OT), AI, and existing technologies. The group works holistically to manage site controls and ensure the reliability of the infrastructure that supports everything from R&D testing to retail production test markets.

About the Role

As a Controls and Electrical Systems Associate, you will be the frontline guardian of the plant's automation ecosystem. Your primary mission is to maintain and improve the systems that keep our production lines running, ensuring equipment availability for site operations. You will serve as the critical link between data analytics, IT teams, and external vendors, executing a holistic agenda that blends technical precision with cross-functional collaboration.

In this role, you will not only troubleshoot complex PLC and SCADA applications but also lead the deployment of new technologies like IoT edge devices and Machine AI on the factory floor. You will partner with EHS to mitigate risks, mentor maintenance technicians, and ensure strict adherence to food safety and defense programs, including FSSC22000 certification. Your work directly supports the success of R&D development and the operational stability of multiple sites, including the Plano GPC operations.

Work Environment & Schedule

This position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM. While the core hours are fixed, the role requires flexibility to cover weekends as necessary to meet business needs. You will work in a dynamic industrial environment where mechanical aptitude and electrical troubleshooting are daily necessities.

Hiring Process

Candidates selected for this role will engage in a structured interview process designed to assess both technical proficiency and cultural fit. The process typically includes:

  1. Initial Screening: A conversation with a recruiter to discuss background, experience, and role expectations.
  2. Technical Assessment: A deep dive into your experience with industrial controls, networking, and specific technologies like Allen-Bradley PLCs and SCADA systems.
  3. Team Interview: A discussion with the hiring manager and potential peers to evaluate collaboration skills and problem-solving approaches.
  4. Final Review: Finalization of the offer and onboarding details.
