The UPMC Center for Emergency Medicine (CEM) operates STAT MedEvac, a critical care transport system dedicated to saving lives through rapid, high-quality air medical services. Our mission is to provide the safest and most efficient air transportation for patients in highly challenging and rapidly changing operational environments. As a member of this team, you will uphold the system's goals and objectives, ensuring that every flight supports the continuity of care for those in need.
We are seeking a Full-Time Pilot for MedEvac 9, based in Clearfield, PA. As the Pilot in Command (PIC), you will serve as the final authority over the safe operation of the assigned aircraft. This role is integral to the critical care transport team, requiring you to exercise independent judgment to navigate complex operational landscapes while prioritizing the safety of patients and crew.
Your day-to-day responsibilities involve ensuring aircraft airworthiness, maintaining currency in all FAA-required qualifications, and conducting flights in strict accordance with CEM policies and FAA regulations. You will coordinate closely with flight followers regarding weather, NOTAMs, and duty time, while actively participating in the development of a robust safety culture. Beyond flying, you will mentor newly hired pilots, maintain accurate documentation, and protect patient privacy in compliance with federal and state laws.
Interested candidates should review the specific licensure and flight hour requirements listed in the structured fields. Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, particularly for pilots with slightly fewer than 2,000 total flight hours if their prior experience and qualifications exceed the CAMTS PIC Evaluation Tool standards.
UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where all team members can thrive.
