About the Team

Essentia Fargo operates as a dynamic Heart & Vascular team within an Integrated Heart and Vascular System Service Line. The group consists of 14 physicians and 10 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) dedicated to delivering comprehensive cardiac and thoracic care. The facility features a 135-bed hospital with a Level II trauma center, round-the-clock ICU coverage by intensivists and APCs, and a dedicated on-site hospitalist team available 24/7. The practice is supported by seasoned CT surgeons, excellent technical and nursing staff, and a collaborative environment that fosters a positive work culture.

About the Role

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a Thoracic Surgeon to join a thriving practice in Fargo, North Dakota. The role is designed for candidates trained in adult cardiac and general thoracic surgery who are eager to engage in a full spectrum of surgical techniques, including open, minimally invasive, and robotic procedures. You will perform advanced esophageal, mediastinal, pulmonary, and chest wall surgeries, utilizing cutting-edge robotic technology.

The day-to-day experience involves seamless transitions between inpatient and outpatient activities, as the clinic and hospital are located in the same building. You will collaborate closely with an experienced pulmonary team offering lung cancer screening, PFT labs, rehabilitation, and minimally invasive procedures, as well as access to comprehensive oncology services including medical and radiation oncology, infusion services, and genetic counseling. The position features a balanced 1:3 call rotation, allowing for a sustainable work-life balance while maintaining high-level clinical engagement.
