CareSouth is seeking a Doctor of Medicine to join our Family Practice team in Baton Rouge, LA. This full-time, employed role offers a competitive weekly pay package and the opportunity to make a significant impact on patient outcomes within a supportive community setting.
As a Family Practice physician, you will provide direct patient care, diagnosis, and treatment for a diverse range of chronic and acute conditions. Your day-to-day responsibilities include managing chronic illnesses, performing EKG and pulmonary function test interpretations, and handling non-invasive gynecologic evaluations. You will also treat uncomplicated dermatological conditions, manage acute musculoskeletal issues such as back and neck pain, and perform minor procedures including joint aspirations, abscess drainage, and the removal of foreign bodies from eyes and ears.
The schedule is designed to balance patient volume with administrative needs. You will see an average of 22 patients from Monday through Thursday, 11 patients on Friday, and 6 patients on Saturday to accommodate walk-ins. In addition to clinical duties, you will supervise students and ensure all care meets high-quality standards to improve compliance and patient outcomes.
The call schedule involves one month of primary call responsibility, followed by six months of backup call support for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who serves as the primary on-call provider.
