About the Team

Due to exciting growth, Essentia Health in Fargo, ND, is recruiting a Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician to join a busy Women’s and Children’s division. The team operates within state-of-the-art, recently remodeled facilities, fostering a collegial and growing environment.

The practice is consultation-based, with a primary base in the MFM clinic embedded within the growing OB/GYN Clinic. This clinic is attached to a hospital featuring a recently remodeled, state-of-the-art Birthing Center and post-partum rooms. The team includes established clinicians working alongside two MFM nurses, an OB Diabetic Educator, a Genetic Counselor, and three MFM sonographers. You will collaborate closely with an OB/GYN team of eight physicians, seven CNMs, and five NPs.

The role serves a large referral base, including both maternal and fetal high-risk obstetric populations. Essentia Health – Fargo houses a Level III NICU with recently built private rooms, supporting over 1,200 deliveries annually.

About the Role

This position offers a balanced schedule with an anticipated weekly work week of 4–5 days from 8 am to 5 pm, with no call requirements. The daily volume typically includes 10 office patients, 2–4 procedures per month, and an average of 5–10 inpatient consults per month.

Location & Community

Fargo is centrally located on the border of North Dakota and Minnesota, just four hours west of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The Fargo-Moorhead area has a population of 250,000, with a regional service area consisting of 25 clinics and five hospitals. The community is known for being safe and family-friendly, featuring an active downtown, great schools, and various community activities.
