About the Team
Essentia Health's Gastroenterology section is undergoing a planned expansion to serve our 132-bed tertiary referral center. Our facility features a state-of-the-art endoscopy unit and a 24-hour Emergency Department with Level II trauma designation. Currently, the group consists of two Gastroenterologists operating in a 100% consultative practice, supported by five NPs/PAs who manage the outpatient clinic and inpatient consultation service. All GI hospital admissions are managed by the IM hospitalist service, allowing our specialists to focus on advanced endoscopic care and outpatient management.
We are affiliated with the University of North Dakota medical school, offering robust teaching and outreach opportunities. Our advanced endoscopic practice includes ERCP with EUS capability, utilizing Olympus 190 scopes with CO2 and supported by Provation and Epic software.
About the Role
We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE) Gastroenterologist to join our growing team. This position is designed for a physician who thrives in a consultative model, managing a 1:4 call schedule while performing a full spectrum of endoscopy procedures. The role offers the chance to work in a tort reform state with no malpractice buy-in, no overhead, and no administrative burden regarding liability.

Located centrally on the border of North Dakota and Minnesota, our facility is just four hours west of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The Fargo-Moorhead area, with a population of 250,000, serves as a regional hub for 25 clinics and 5 hospitals. The community is known for being safe and family-friendly, featuring an active downtown, excellent schools, and diverse community activities. Residents enjoy the flexibility of living in either an urban or rural environment while remaining minutes from work.
