Join one of the largest and most respected multispecialty groups, CHRISTUS Health, as we seek an Orthopedic Physician Assistant to join a busy general orthopedic practice in Alamogordo, New Mexico. This is an opportunity to work in a mission-driven, faith-based organization that values collaboration, clinical excellence, and community-focused care. You will support both outpatient clinic and surgical services alongside a dedicated orthopedic team.
About the Role
In this position, you will partner with a team of 4 Orthopedic Surgeons and 2 other Advanced Practice Clinicians to optimize patient outcomes. The role balances a dynamic outpatient schedule with surgical responsibilities. You will evaluate and manage orthopedic patients in the clinic, handling new consultations, follow-ups, and post-operative care. Additionally, you will first assist in major and minor orthopedic surgical procedures, interpret x-rays, and assist with treatment planning.
The practice operates with a collaborative rhythm: clinic hours are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, handling approximately 20-25 patients daily. Surgical cases are scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays. The team shares call duties, with one weekend every three weeks.
