Our client is a 25-bed, non-profit community hospital designated as a Critical Access Hospital, located in Wolfeboro, NH. We endeavor to offer the best of two worlds: the warmth and friendliness of a small town and the technical expertise of modern medicine. We provide primary care, diagnostic testing, and specialty services to the region's year-round population of 30,000 residents, as well as approximately 120,000 seasonal residents and visitors who come from all over the world to enjoy the Eastern Lakes Region.
The hospital and our professional medical staff have a reputation for excellence in primary care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, medical imaging and diagnostics, gynecology, orthopedics, pediatrics, physical therapy, cardiac and occupational rehabilitation, and emergency services. We know that we can only achieve our vision by working collaboratively with our community to provide the care the community needs in a coordinated, seamless way.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation and Diagnostic Services, this Physical Therapist position is responsible for administering comprehensive physical therapy services to both inpatient and outpatient populations. The role focuses on restoring patient function, alleviating pain, and preventing disabilities through the planning and administration of medically prescribed therapy.
You will partner with patients to develop treatment plans that address their unique age, physical, psychological, and learning needs. This involves performing evaluations and re-evaluations, utilizing a variety of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and assistive devices. A key part of the role is ensuring continuity of care by educating patients and families on home exercise programs and coordinating with physicians, nurses, and social workers for discharge planning.
Beyond direct patient care, you will play a vital role in the department's growth by teaching and leading physical therapy students and other health profession learners. You will also have the opportunity to direct and supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs), delegating specific patients and establishing channels for ongoing communication. Additionally, you may travel to off-site approved locations to provide therapy services and wellness programs.
Interested candidates should submit their application directly through our career portal. The interview process typically includes a review of credentials, a conversation with the Director of Rehabilitation and Diagnostic Services, and a final meeting with the hiring team to discuss team fit and clinical approach.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our hospital. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
