About the Role
We are seeking a PHP Technical Lead Engineer to join our amazing health tech partner in the United States. This is a full-time, direct-hire position designed for an experienced engineer who thrives at the intersection of hands-on development and technical leadership.
In this role, you will drive the development of integration-focused services that connect core business applications with external platforms, partners, and third-party systems. You will help shape the architecture of a comprehensive healthcare platform that supports practice management, surgical workflows, revenue cycle management (RCM), and MIPS reporting. Your mission is to build reliable, high-performance systems that serve doctors and their patients end-to-end.
This position blends deep technical expertise with a collaborative mindset. You will not only write code but also establish engineering best practices, mentor team members, and lead the delivery of scalable solutions that support critical business operations.
Location & Eligibility
This is a remote role, but candidates must be living in the United States and be willing to work East Coast hours. You must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder. Please note that this role does not offer sponsorship, is not a consulting position, and we do not work with third-party agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
- verified5+ years of professional software development experience
- verifiedStrong background in PHP and modern PHP frameworks, ideally Laravel
- verifiedProven experience designing and building APIs and service-based applications
- verifiedHands-on experience integrating software with external vendors, partner platforms, and third-party systems
- verifiedSolid understanding of service-oriented architecture, asynchronous communication, and distributed application design
- verifiedExperience implementing data integration and transformation solutions
- verifiedKnowledge of fault tolerance, monitoring, retry strategies, and resiliency patterns in distributed environments
- verifiedProficiency with Git and modern development workflows
- verifiedExperience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployment technologies such as Docker
Nice to Have
Experience designing event-driven systems and messaging architectures. Knowledge of AWS services and cloud-native development, including technologies such as ECS, Aurora, and SQS. Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and logging tools. Experience working in SaaS, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries. Background establishing integration standards, frameworks, or governance practices. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
