About the Role

As a Phlebotomist at Geisinger Medical Center, you will be the friendly face of our laboratory, collecting blood and human specimens in both clinical and non-clinical settings. This role is a vital component of the patient experience, requiring you to collaborate with clinical and non-clinical counterparts to ensure a safe environment that promotes the best possible outcomes.

You will perform venipunctures and skin punctures according to Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines, handling patient identification, specimen collection, labeling, and processing with precision. Your day will involve working across acute, post-acute, clinic, and field service areas, often carrying a mobile phlebotomy toolkit. You will troubleshoot physician orders, process specimens for testing, and assist patients directly. Whether you are a new graduate or an experienced professional, you will function effectively within a team, mentoring students and new employees while adhering to Geisinger's core values.

We employ phlebotomists at multiple skill levels (I, II, and III), offering opportunities for growth, ASCP certification, and internal preceptor training. This specific opening is for a Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) role at Geisinger Medical Center, requiring a valid driver's license and adherence to fleet maintenance policies for mobile duties.

Hiring Incentive: Eligible candidates for this position qualify for a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
