As an Outpatient Phlebotomist, you will be the vital link between patients and diagnostic care, processing blood draws with a focus on patient safety, comfort, and high-quality customer service. This role exists to ensure that physicians receive accurate, timely laboratory data essential for diagnosing, preventing, and treating diseases.
Your day will involve interacting professionally with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff to provide optimal care. You will perform phlebotomy procedures for diverse patient populations, including adults, adolescents, and infants, across outpatient draw stations, nursing homes, assisted living centers, and healthcare clinics. The role requires precision in identifying patients, labeling specimens with unique identifiers, and utilizing computer systems to process orders and manage specimens for reference labs. You will also drive lab courier vehicles to off-site locations as needed and may assist in training new employees and students.
