The Pharmacy Technician Specialist, Inpatient is a pivotal role within our Central Operations, Central Sterile Compounding, and Operating Rooms teams. Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, Director, or their designee, this position utilizes experience-based knowledge to perform advanced technical functions in preparing, formulating, and packaging medication and pharmaceutical supplies.
You will serve as a key resource in a high-paced, operationally complex healthcare environment. Your day involves coordinating technician activities, ensuring medication supply areas are neat and orderly, and maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols for hazardous medications. You will interact professionally with providers, pharmacists, nurses, and support personnel to facilitate the flow of operations and ensure the highest standards of patient care.
This role is divided into three primary areas of focus:
Candidates must hold and maintain current unrestricted Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician licensure and National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT). For the Central Sterile Compounding track, new hires must obtain and maintain internal IV and oncology credentialing within two months of hire. All new hires must successfully pass a drug screen in conformance with Rhode Island State Law.
