Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship

Whether you are new to working in pharmacies or are an experienced Pharmacy Technician, Walgreens will train you to use your skills and talents to serve and care for our patients and customers. The courses, learning activities, and resources provided to you in our pharmacy technician training program are designed to give you foundational and advanced knowledge, skills, and on-the-job experiences you need to prepare to become a certified pharmacy technician.

In this role, you will model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by engaging customers and patients, resolving issues, and sharing best practices with team members. You will develop strong relationships with our most valuable customers while ensuring a positive experience through proactive service and courtesy.

Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policies. Your day-to-day involves utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicine, and checking for possible interactions. You will also handle telephone calls, process manual claims, and support inventory management activities.

We are committed to your personal development. You will earn and maintain PTCB certification through our designated training program and/or state required certification/registration. You will attend training requested by your manager and acquire continuing education credits to maintain your knowledge and skills in healthcare and pharmacy.
