About the Role
Based at CoxHealth South in Springfield, Missouri, the Pharmacy Intern I is an entry-level position within the Inpatient Pharmacy South department. This role is designed to support the direct care of hospitalized patients by assisting in the procurement, distribution, and preparation of pharmaceuticals and supplies. Working under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, the intern plays a vital part in meeting the diverse drug needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The position requires the ability to work accurately under pressure, handle frequent interruptions, and adapt quickly to changing workloads and emergency requests.
Hiring Process
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an ACPE-accredited school or college of pharmacy, or have documentation of acceptance into such a program with a start date within the next 12 months. Applicants must also be licensed with the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Tech or Pharmacy Intern, or have an application in process with full licensure obtained within 90 days.
