At CVS Health, we are focused on transforming health care for our customers and making our company a great place to work. We help people navigate the health care system—and their personal health care—by improving access, lowering costs, and being a trusted partner for every meaningful moment of health. Whether in our pharmacies or through our health service offerings, we are pioneering a bold new approach to total health care, making quality care affordable, accessible, simple, and seamless.
Within our Retail locations, we bring this promise to life with heart every day. The Graduate Pharmacy Intern program is designed for those who have invested time and energy in their education and are ready to make their mark. You will immerse yourself in a culture of continuous improvement, applying your didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice to become ready for a Pharmacist role.
Under the direction of your preceptor and District Leader, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This journey is designed to deepen your knowledge of store, district, and regional operations, with a specific focus on patient safety, error prevention, quality assurance, drug utilization review (DUR), and professional standards such as corresponding responsibility and red flag detection.
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, prescriptions are filled promptly and accurately, and caring service exceeds patient expectations. You will learn to operate as part of the team through the consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices. Throughout your shifts, you will demonstrate empathy and genuine care, contributing to a safe and inclusive culture where all people feel valued and empowered.
As your tenure and readiness increase, you will take on greater accountability for supporting management and operations. This includes counseling patients, fielding medical questions, taking telephonic prescriptions, and managing inventory activities. Where permissible and with appropriate certification, you may also support immunizations, educating patients, obtaining informed consent, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
We await your fresh ideas, new perspectives, and the unique contributions you will make to our organization as a health care innovator.
