As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will learn to provide the best patient experience by assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team members in accordance with state and federal regulations. This role is designed for those modeling and delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience while learning and championing pharmacy policy, procedures, and customer service best practices needed to perform as a future pharmacist.
You will engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues to ensure a positive experience. You will model customer service best practices with all team members, demonstrating interpersonal habits like greeting, eye contact, and courtesy, alongside Walgreens service traits such as offering help proactively and servicing until satisfied.
Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will assist in the practice of pharmacy, reviewing and complying with the Walgreens Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct. Your duties include entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions according to standard operating procedures. You will also assist pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care within the state scope of practice for pharmacy interns, including patient counseling and health services like blood pressure monitoring and medication therapy management.
You will be responsible for registering sales, handling cash, and assisting with inventory management activities such as ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments. Additionally, you will support the Pharmacy Department's maintenance by ensuring the area is stocked, clean, and orderly, while adhering to asset protection techniques and filing claims for any discrepancies.
