This position offers more than just a job; it is an opportunity to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, patient counseling, and teaching. You will interpret medication orders, review drug therapies for safety, and collaborate with physicians to clarify orders and document interventions. The role involves providing clinical consultation to practitioners, nursing staff, and patients while sustaining the hospital formulary through cost-effective and therapeutic alternatives.
You will supervise pharmacy support personnel, verify medication dispensing, and oversee pharmacy operations when necessary. The role requires working independently to organize and prioritize assignments, ensuring services are provided in a timely manner. Additionally, you will accurately dispense medications, prepare sterile admixtures including chemotherapy and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), and maintain records for controlled substances in compliance with Louisiana and Federal laws.
