LCMC Health is a community where our people make health happen. While our NOLA roots run deep, our branches are the vessels that carry our mission of bringing the best possible care to every person and parish in Louisiana and beyond. We put a little more heart and soul into healthcare along the way. Celebrating authenticity, originality, equity, inclusion, and a "come on in" attitude is the foundation of our culture of everyday extraordinary.
East Jefferson General Hospital is a landmark of LCMC Health's incredible community of care. It has been the go-to hospital for health, wellness, and one-of-a-kind care in East Jefferson Parish for over 50 years. As a national recognition as a Nurse Magnet Hospital, we are only beginning to realize our greatest potential.
Your job is more than a job. As a Pharmacist, you will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, patient counseling, and teaching. You will interpret medication orders, review drug therapies for contraindications and interactions, and contact physicians to clarify orders. This role involves providing clinical consultation to practitioners, nursing staff, patients, and families, while sustaining the hospital formulary by suggesting cost-effective and therapeutic alternatives.
You will supervise pharmacy support personnel, verify medication dispensing, and oversee pharmacy operations. You will also accurately dispense medications and prepare sterile admixtures, including chemotherapy and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN). Working independently with minimal supervision, you will organize and prioritize work assignments to ensure services are provided in a timely manner.
Simple things make the difference. We encourage you to deliver healthcare with heart, give people a reason to smile, and put a little love in your work. We value honesty and compassion, and we bring some "lagniappe" into everything we do. We believe in one-of-a-kind care rather than one-size-fits-all solutions, seeing opportunities rather than problems. We cheerlead ideas, differences, and each other, and we love what makes you, you.

LCMC Health operates as a non-profit hospital and health care system headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana. The organization serves patients and families across Louisiana, the Gulf Coast, and surrounding regions with a focus on delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Founded on the legacy of Louisiana's first freestanding children's hospital, the system has expanded to address the unique health needs of diverse communities while maintaining a core philosophy of treating individuals like family.
The health system comprises nine hospital locations, including Children's Hospital New Orleans, University Medical Center New Orleans, and Touro, alongside a network of urgent care centers and physician practices throughout the greater New Orleans area. This footprint supports over 2,200 board-certified physicians covering a wide spectrum of medical specialties. The approach emphasizes treating the whole patient rather than focusing solely on specific conditions, aiming to provide care that aligns with the values and outlooks of the families they serve.
Beyond direct patient services, LCMC Health collaborates with local universities to advance medical care standards and train the next generation of healthcare professionals. This commitment to education and community partnership supports a long-term vision for a healthier future in the Gulf Coast region. The system continues to build upon its rich history to deliver accessible, high-quality services to the people of New Orleans and beyond.
