Public Agency Resources (PARS), a subsidiary of Willdan Group Inc., is seeking a Permit Technician to join our team in the Orlando, FL area.

About the Role

This position focuses on permit counter work at a local municipality. The Permit Technician serves as the primary point of contact for the public, providing support both at the counter and over the phone. The role involves reviewing permit applications for completeness and accuracy, calculating permit fees, and processing the issuance of building permits.

A key part of the day-to-day responsibilities includes ensuring all conditions of approval are met before issuance and verifying that projects have obtained necessary approvals. The technician will coordinate and route construction documents to appropriate staff for plan review, notify applicants when documents or permits are ready for pick-up, and assist the public in completing permit applications. Additionally, the role requires resolving resident inquiries and complaints to ensure a smooth permitting experience.

Hiring Process

Applicants must possess ICC Certification (Counter Technician) and municipal experience, with at least one year of experience as a Permit Technician. Knowledge of various permitting software is considered a plus.
