This Per Diem Licensed HVAC/Refrigeration Engineer position is located at NewYork-Presbyterian/ David H. Koch Center in New York, New York. You will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the building, central chiller plant, and utility services on a 24-hour basis. Working under the guidance of a supervisor, you will monitor the Boiler Room, Chiller Plant, and auxiliary equipment, including pumps and emergency generators.
Your day will involve making emergency mechanical and electrical repairs to prevent interruptions to utility services, such as drainage systems, water leaks, air conditioning systems, and clogged toilets. You will also assist in testing emergency generators, monitor bulk gas systems including equipment inspection and tank replacement, and adjust major air conditioning units or heat to ensure proper temperature and ventilation. Additionally, you will operate and respond to alarms for the HVAC central control system and maintain a daily log of any unusual conditions arising during your shift.
