Health Care for the Homeless is seeking a Peer Advocate to join our Housing Services team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted guide and support for individuals who have experienced homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use, or incarceration. Your mission is to help them connect to essential services and maintain housing placements using a strengths-based, harm reduction approach.
As a Peer Advocate, you will leverage your lived experience to model wellness and encourage service engagement. You will build meaningful, recovery-oriented relationships with clients through home and community visits, providing hands-on coaching in life skills such as budgeting, housekeeping, and shopping. This role involves triaging walk-in clients and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to contribute to comprehensive client care plans.
