Join a cohesive pediatric radiology team at Children's Hospital of Michigan, a proud member of the Detroit Medical Center (DMC). Since 1886, the hospital has been dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to children and adolescents in a caring, efficient, and family-centered environment. As the first and largest children's hospital in the state, this 228-bed facility holds an international reputation in pediatric medicine, surgery, and research, training more pediatricians than any other facility in Michigan.
The hospital engages in groundbreaking research that has long shaped the science of pediatric medicine and is ranked as one of America's best pediatric hospitals by U.S. News & World Report and Parent Magazine. As a free-standing Pediatric Level I Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons and home to a Pediatric Burn Center verified by the American Burn Association, the institution is committed to helping children and families live happier, healthier lives.
You will read exclusively pediatric studies, teaching every day, and help grow an academic service that values quality, education, and collaboration. This role places you at the forefront of providing world-class imaging services to children, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of pediatric specialists to contribute to the care of a diverse pediatric patient population.
Unlike a high-volume reading mill, this position offers an academic pace with real teaching time. You will engage daily with residents and fellows while managing a scale and variety of approximately 90,000 pediatric exams yearly across the main campus and satellite locations. The clinical scope covers the full spectrum of pediatric imaging, including radiographs, ultrasound, CT, MR, nuclear medicine, and fluoroscopy, with the primary site being Children's Hospital of Michigan.
You will teach pediatric radiology fellows, radiology residents, and medical students from programs across Southeast Michigan. Academic appointments are available with Wayne State University, Central Michigan University, and Michigan State University. The environment is supported by dedicated Child Life support, experienced technologists, and state-of-the-art technology, including multiple magnets, a Dual Source 256 Slice CT with FLASH technology, and new fluoroscopy and X-ray rooms slated for 2026.
Candidates should be board eligible or board certified in Diagnostic Radiology with an accredited Pediatric Radiology fellowship. The role is open to both new graduates and experienced pediatric radiologists who possess an interest in teaching and thriving in an academic environment. A CAQ in Pediatric Radiology or eligibility is required, and body imaging experience is mandatory.
Employment practices at Children's Hospital of Michigan will not be influenced or affected by an applicant's or employee's race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
