This position serves as a vital support for regularly scheduled procedural services within the Radiation Oncology department at the UCH Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion in Aurora, Colorado. As an onsite Registered Nurse, you will provide direct patient care at a proficient level, utilizing the nursing process in strict accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Your mission is to monitor patients to maintain a safe environment, optimize clinical outcomes, and maximize available resources.
You will work within a complex environment caring for a specialized patient population. The role demands critical thinking and decisive judgment to handle life-threatening situations with efficiency and composure. You will be responsible for performing and documenting pre/post-procedural monitoring, communicating patient conditions, and ensuring all safety checklists and interventions are implemented. Additionally, you will evaluate the learning needs of patients and families, providing education appropriate to their age, culture, and condition.
