The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Utah School of Medicine is a premier clinical and academic center serving the largest geographic catchment area in the United States. Our team provides comprehensive care to a diverse patient population spanning Utah, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Wyoming, and New Mexico. As one of the most productive centers for pediatric liver disease research in the country, we are a member of the NIH-funded Childhood Liver Disease Research Network (ChiLDReN) and serve as the central hub for the Pediatric PSC Consortium.
Our clinical footprint includes Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City and our second campus in Lehi, Utah. The division is distinguished by its advanced capabilities, including one of the few pediatric ERCP and advanced endoscopy programs in the nation. We operate a robust liver transplant program with over 300 transplants performed since inception, supported by a collaborative transition program with adult affiliated centers. Our multidisciplinary approach extends to specialized programs for IBD, Cystic Fibrosis, Food Allergy, Eosinophilic Disorders, Fontan care, and complex feeding and swallowing disorders.
This position offers a unique opportunity to join a clinical team focused primarily on transplant hepatology and liver disease, while also engaging in general pediatric gastroenterology and clinical outreach. While the core of the role is clinical service, it is designed to accommodate significant academic pursuits. You will have the flexibility to tailor your clinical and academic activities to your interests, whether that involves leading clinical trials, directing the transplant hepatology fellowship, managing multidisciplinary clinics, or leading the NICU consult service.
The role involves providing both outpatient and inpatient care at our state-of-the-art facilities. You will work alongside a dedicated team of 19 physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, and fellows. The position includes opportunities for education, collaborative clinical research, investigation, administration, and advocacy. Successful candidates will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on either the Clinical or Tenure track, commensurate with their experience and qualifications.
