The Department of Pediatrics at Loma Linda University School of Medicine is a vibrant academic community dedicated to advancing pediatric care and education. The Pediatric Gastroenterology division currently comprises eight Pediatric Gastroenterologists and a Nurse Practitioner, working collaboratively to deliver comprehensive care. As a member of the Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, you will join a team that supports a large residency program, including 84 pediatric residents and 16 Med-Peds residents who rotate through the gastroenterology program.
We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join our full-time division. This role is designed for an excellent clinician and teacher who is passionate about pediatric care and academic medicine. You will provide clinical care to patients across the Inland Empire of Southern California, which spans Riverside, San Bernardino, Inyo, and Mono counties. The division serves as a tertiary care referral center, offering specialized services for complex conditions such as intestinal failure (home TPN), inflammatory bowel disease, cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease, spina bifida, and liver disease.
In addition to clinical duties, you will have significant teaching responsibilities for medical students and residents. The position also offers ample opportunities for both basic and clinical research. While experience or interest in motility disorders is preferred, the role is open to candidates who bring a strong foundation in pediatric gastroenterology and a commitment to education.
Loma Linda University Children's Hospital features a state-of-the-art endoscopy lab equipped for all endoscopic procedures, general motility studies, bio-feedback programs, IB Stim, breath hydrogen studies, and esophageal pH studies. A full-time anesthesia service supports these procedures. The division is supported by a nurse specialist, a dietician, a social worker, and administrative staff to ensure holistic patient care. While there is no liver transplant program on-site, the team co-manages pre- and post-liver transplant care with regional transplant institutions.
Living in the Inland Empire offers the lifestyle perks of Southern California with more affordable living expenses. Please note that a California residency is required upon your start date.
Interested candidates should submit their application through the university's recruitment portal. Compensation details, including the starting base range and variable compensation structures, will be discussed directly with the department during the recruitment process.
