The Department of Pediatrics at Loma Linda University School of Medicine is a vibrant academic community dedicated to advancing pediatric care and education. The Pediatric Gastroenterology division currently consists of eight Pediatric Gastroenterologists and a Nurse Practitioner, working collaboratively to serve the Inland Empire region of Southern California.
Loma Linda University Medical Center and Children's Hospital serve as a tertiary care referral center for Riverside, San Bernardino, Inyo, and Mono counties. The division provides comprehensive gastroenterology and nutrition services through general outpatient clinics and specialized team center clinics. These specialized centers care for patients with complex conditions including intestinal failure (home TPN), enteral feeding tube management, inflammatory bowel disease, cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease, spina bifida, home mechanical ventilation, and liver disease. The team is supported by a nurse specialist, a dietician, a social worker, and administrative staff.
The facility features a state-of-the-art endoscopy lab offering all endoscopic procedures, general motility studies, bio-feedback programs, IB Stim, breath hydrogen studies, and esophageal pH studies. A full-time anesthesia service supports endoscopic procedures. While there is no liver transplant program on-site, the team co-manages pre- and post-liver transplant care with regional transplant institutions.
