The Department of Pediatrics at Loma Linda University School of Medicine is a vibrant academic community dedicated to advancing pediatric care and education. The Pediatric Gastroenterology division currently comprises eight Pediatric Gastroenterologists and a Nurse Practitioner, working collaboratively to serve the Inland Empire region of Southern California.
Loma Linda University Medical Center and Children's Hospital serve as a tertiary care referral center for Riverside, San Bernardino, Inyo, and Mono counties. The division provides comprehensive gastroenterology and nutrition services through outpatient clinics, including specialized team center clinics for complex conditions such as intestinal failure, inflammatory bowel disease, cystic fibrosis, and liver disease. These clinics are supported by a multidisciplinary team including nurse specialists, dieticians, and social workers.
The facility features a state-of-the-art endoscopy lab offering advanced procedures like motility studies, bio-feedback programs, and esophageal pH studies, backed by full-time anesthesia services. While there is no on-site liver transplant program, the team co-manages pre- and post-transplant care with regional institutions. The hospital also hosts a large residency program with 84 pediatric residents and 16 Med-Peds residents, providing a robust environment for teaching and clinical research.
